Made from all natural materials with the exception of the bracket and screws to hold it together. The post is Sycamore, tubes are bamboo, jute twine, and the wood is persimmon. This hotel attracts and houses native bees for them to nest in. Our native bees rarely ever sting and many are stingless, so it's safe to be placed in a high traffic area. 
Dig a hole about 18" deep to "plant" your bee hotel in. Put in a location near flowering plants and face it south.
