This medium sized tree rarely gets larger than 50 feet tall and 50 feet wide. Growing best in full sun or part shade, dry to wet soils, acidic - neutral pH, and various soil compositions. It is a keystone species, supporting 284 species of caterpillars. Its exfoliating bark brings winter interest to your landscape.
