Red Buckeye is a small tree that can reach up to 25' tall in the right conditions. It does best in shade to part sun and moist soils. Too much sun can lead to early, mid summer, leaf drop. The beautiful tubular flowers emerge in early spring and last for about a month, attracting hummingbirds and butterflies. It is a known host to 37 species of caterpillars including the gorgous Four-Spotted Angle moth
