This large evergreen shrub can get to 30 feet tall but typically doesn't get much larger than 15 feet tall and 15 feet wide. It grows best in Full Sun or Part Shade, in moist to wet organic, nutrient rich soils that are acidic. It's unique twisting form provides great protection for wildlife. Its fragrant white hanging clusters of flowers emerge May - July, attracting butterflies and bees. Mammals and birds consume the fruit in the fall.
