Fire Pink is a perennial plant that rarely gets to 3' tall. It prefers part sun, especially being shaded in the afternoon. It grows best in well drained soil. The uniquely shaped red flowers bloom from May and into July attracting hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and other pollinating insects. Many songbirds are attracted to the seeds over the summer.
