This large perennial can grow to be 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide, and will easily spread. It prefers full sun, but can tolerate some shade, and grows best in moist to wet acidic soils. Its yellow blooms start to pop in July and will continue until the first frost. It is a keystone species that supports 66 species of caterpillars and 100 bee species.
