This small shrub only reaches about 3' in height but can be more sprawled out. It likes full sun to part shade and does best in sandy, well drained soil. It's leaves are commonly used by people to make a tea, as well as being a host for the beautiful blue Spring Azure, Summer Azure, and many other species butterflies. The white flowers a small but form larger clusters, supporting many species of bees and pollinators from late spring into mid summer. The seeds are foraged by birds in June and July.
