This larger perennial can grow up to 5' tall. It grows best in full sun or only a little bit of shade in the afternoon, in moist soils high in organics. It's showy white flowers emerge in late spring and last through mid summer, attracting hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. The genus supports a specialized bee called the Beardtongue Scraper Bee.
